Mudiyil Mallipoo, starting as a film and growing into a multimedia archive, traces the relationship between personal and collective memories by looking at the jasmine flowers worn by Tamil women in their hair. The project situates itself to understand how the mallipoo becomes a means to access how rituals of gender are lived and performed across bodies and relationships in varied contexts within the South Indian context.
