Jahnavi Pradeep is an interdisciplinary creative based out of India. She is an alum of Mount Holyoke College (2023), where she double majored in English and Film Media Theater. Post her undergraduate studies in the States, she returned to India and was a fellow for Auroville Film Institute and University of Ladakh’s Open Space Documentary Arts Program (2025).
Jahnavi’s practice as an artist is a parallel development to her search for roots and identity. What is the relationship between the personal and collective? What is this collective? These curiosities have found direction through her ongoing experimentations with writing, film, photography, archiving, and new media formats such as installations. Her projects have taken her to Karnataka, Ladakh, Pondicherry, and Tamil Nadu so far, reiterating her creative journey as an ongoing process of remembering and building connections across time and space. For example, in an upcoming project titled Mudiyil Mallipoo (2026), she considers the jasmine flower as a means to see Tamil rituals, expressions of gender, and the intersection of personal and collective memories. All her works attempt to push the boundaries of the multimodal quality and educational potential of any art form.
Jahnavi also works as a freelance consultant, liaising with diverse clients. Her professional experience spans writing and editorial work, research and content development, curriculum design, and creative direction. She looks to continue finding herself in spaces of critical inquiry, whether in publishing, pedagogy, media or otherwise.
